Kick the Winter Blues Dance Party
plus some thoughts on what might be included on the playlist

Is the cold, soggy weather dragging you down? Let's get down together!

Join your fellow Sapphire Dancers for an evening of relaxed fun, dancing the night away, surrounded by the warmth of a happy dance community. Never been to a Dance Party before? Well. It's time to start.

The evening will begin with a beginner-friendly-to-intermediate lesson in one of our community's favorites: West Coast Swing. If you've heard of this dance, it's just as cool as you've been told. If you haven't - go ahead and YouTube it. Just be ready to go down a fantastic dance rabbit-hole when you do.

But, we are not limiting ourselves to WCS. There will be plenty of Salsa, Hustle, Cha Cha, Tango, Carolina Shag, Bachata, Swing, Waltz and more. Come out at the beginning of the dance for a lesson that will make this somewhat challenging dance beginner friendly. If you're new to this stuff, make sure to get there early to master the foundations.

Bring a snack to share and earn lots of compliments and our endless gratitude.

The music included in the playlist for the Kick the Winter Blues this Saturday will be heavy on the blues, but not limited to them. We'll also feature songs about the cold, about winter, about dealing with being in a funk. Here are some options that you might hear when you come dance on Saturday:

Sapphire's group classes and workshops are always small, low stress, and fun. They are a great way to meet other people who have also decided to learn to dance, as well as get to know our teaching staff. It doesn't take any long-term investment to get started, no special clothing or shoes - just something comfortable to wear and a sense of adventure. So, take the plunge and try it out.

All classes (in person or online) require registration by noon the day the class starts. We are happy to add late-comers if we can, but classes may be cancelled or rescheduled if registration is low.

Four ways to register, just choose one and we'll take care of the rest:
