The Wedding Series & Monday Night Workshops

MarchWe have some big plans in 2019 for wedding couples. Help us spread the word: new classes tailor made just for couples ready to make their first dance incredible! Please forward this email to any of your friends getting hitched.

This email has stuff for everyone else, too, so don’t stop reading if your future doesn’t involve a wedding.

As the year “Marches” on and we continue to add to our already packed schedule, we know that navigating which class to take can be daunting. We don’t always make it easy when we offer so many options. Know that we offer such a variety of classes because dance is not a “one size fit all” activity. The variety is there for the many different schedules, budgets, goals, and personalities that we are so fortunate to serve.

When you boil all of it down, there are essentially 3 ways to learn. You have either a Private, Group or Social setting. And they are as simple as that. You can learn in a private lesson where you have an instructor to yourself and get their undivided attention. Or you can join in a group and enjoy the learning process among friends (while sharing the cost!). And once you get your dancing feet in order, there are social dances where there is always a spiffy pre-dance lesson or you can pick things up on the fly from your friends in the dance community.

As you read on below about a brand new series we are offering for Brides and Grooms (or really any interested couples), the variety of workshops we have for you on Monday nights, and scan all of our coming events, please know that we are here to explain each class and help you decide how to approach your dancing goals. And at the end of the day, they are all an important piece of the learning process and you really should try to sample some of everything!

A new group of Sweetheart Classes: The Wedding Series

bridalSapphire is here year-round to attend to the needs of Brides & Grooms... and father’s & daughters, mother’s & sons, and anyone attending a wedding and wanting to dance! But with wedding season right around the corner, we have a special series of classes for couples preparing for their first dance.

While these classe are actually open to any couple interested in them, they are tailor-made to help wedding couples create a magical and memorable first dance. In these classes, we will spend time talking about all the little things you have to keep in mind when dancing in front of people so there are no surprises. We will teach some flashy but easy ways to dress up your dance and give you some WOW factor. And, of course, each class will teach you a dance style that is perfect for wedding couples.

The three classes are separated into different dance styles, but more importantly they each offer a different effect. When we ask wedding couples how they would like their first dance to be described, the most common responses are “Classic”, “Romantic,” or “Fun.”

Ballroom Ballroom = Classic. Saturdays, April 6 - 27, at 10:30am.
The first class will focus on Ballroom dances to achieve that classic look. This is for the couple that is looking for a timeless, elegant first dance. Waltz and Fox Trot are tried and true for weddings. Some songs that would work are "Fly Me To The Moon" by Frank Sinatra (Fox Trot) and "Come Away With Me" by Nora Jones (Waltz).
Latin Latin = Romantic. Saturdays, May 4 - June 1, at 10:30am (skipping Memorial Day Weekend).
If the feeling you are going for is romantic and sweet, a slow Latin style like Rumba is just the ticket. Rumba can be danced to many genres of music and it’s approachable basic makes it a wonderful choice for your first dance. Some great Rumba songs include "Better Together" by Jack Johnson and "The Way You Look Tonight" by Michael Bublé.
swing Swing = Fun. Saturdays, June 8 - 29, at 10:30am
Many wedding couples choose something non-traditional and fun for their first dance, or want to learn a second style to dance during their reception. Swing styles are perfect for more upbeat songs, and might express the couples’ personality better than something slow or traditional. Single Time Swing and Hustle can be a great choice when gravitating towards songs like "Crazy Little Thing Called Love" by Queen (Swing), "L-O-V-E" by Nat "King" Cole (Swing), and "Can't Stop The Feeling" by Justin Timberlake (Hustle).

Quick facts about all three classes:
Each 4-week class is $72/Couple.
You do not need to have your song picked out before signing up for a class.
If you sign up for the “wrong” class, it will still help you learn the next dance style, and you’ll have fun in the process.
More details are available at http://www.sapphiredance.com/BridalGroupClasses.htm.

We hope one of these three classes will be a perfect fit for you, your song choice, and your big day. If not, we also have private lesson packages to help you work on your dance, including one package designed just for wedding couples. Talk to an instructor to make a plan!
